The post-season high school awards and All-America honors season is here and two 2020 Philadelphia Belles have garnered McDonald’s All-America, Jordan Brand and Gatorade status.
The McDonald’s All-America honor went to 2020 Belles U17 EYBL member 6-4 senior Kylee Watson from Mainland High School, NJ who has signed for Oregon. The McDonald’s game will be played and seen on ESPN on April 1st in Houston, TX.
Three Belles, two from the class of 2020, won Gatorade State Player of the Year honors. Watson was the winner for New Jersey while her Belles EYBL teammate, 6-2 senior Allie Kubek (signed or Towson State) from Sanford School took the Delaware award. Belles EYBL 6-0 junior (2021) newcomer Sonia Citron from the Ursuline School grabbed the honors for the state of New York.
The second big post-season high school game, the Jordan Brand Classic to be held in Chicago March 27th has two Belles on the roster with Watson again leading the way along with fellow Belles EYBL teammate 6-0 senior Alli Campbell (Notre Dame University) from Bellwood-Antis High School, PA will join her on the team.
Belles 2020 EYBL U17 Head Coach Andrea Peterson from Newman-Goretti HS will coach the Jordan Brand Classic team on March 27th along with Mary Coyle-Klinger from Rutgers Prep. Mary Coyle-Klinger is one of the first members of the Belles first competitive team in 1974 (C.L. Stars) along with her twin sister Pat Coyle. They are among the original Belles team founders.
