Middle Atlantic District 11U ( Apr. 17-19) and 16U (Apr. 24-26) District AAU Qualifiers

The Belles will host the MAD Naional AAU District Qualifiers for the 11U and 16U. The 11-U District Qualifier will be help April 17-18-19, 2009. The 16-U District Qualifier will be help April 24-25-26, 2009. Both events will be held at various Philadephia and South Jersey sites. Please contact Hope Fuery at 215-469-0333 for details. The Philadelphia Belles will be hosting the 2009 National AAU SRT (Super Regional

AAU Tournaments) in the Middle Atlantic AAU District.

The National SRT dates hosted by the Philadelphia Belles by Age Group is below:

12s -- being held on APRIL 17-18-19, 2009 at the RiverWinds Center in Thorofare, NJ

13s -- being held on APRIL 25-25-26, 2009 at the RiverWinds Center in Thorofare, NJ

14s -15s -- being held on MAY 1-2-3, 2009 at the RiverWinds Center in Thorofare, NJ


EVENT FEE: The fee for the event is $425.00 per team, per age division ($375.00 if more than one team entered in that age division). No additional fee will be charged. AAU GIRLS BASKETBALL 2009 SUPER REGIONAL TOURNAMENT FORMAT

AUTOMATIC BIDS: The teams that finish first or second COULD receive an automatic bid to the National tournament. The following table will determine the number of teams qualifying.

NUMBER OF TEAMS PER AGE DIVISION IN SUPER REGIONAL 4 TO 9 TEAMS = 1 TEAM 10+ TEAMS = 2 TEAMS If any team or teams have qualified previously then bids may be extended to teams below them, but no lower than fourth place. The consolation game to determine third place is optional, if it would not effect a qualifying position.

ENTRY DEADLINE: The entry deadline date for the event will be three (3) days prior to the start of competition. Entry into each age division may be limited to a set number of teams. All teams must be notified of the schedule at least seven (7) days prior to start of the event. Notification may be by telephone, email or in writing. This information must contain dates, times and location of games.

SANCTIONING: The sanctioning of the event should be with National Office: 407-934-7200.

MEMBERSHIP: All participants must be current members of the AAU. Organization must hold minimum of Level 2 membership.

LOCATION OF EVENTS: The Girls Executive Committee will determine locations and dates of the events. We will restrict SRT to protect the viability of each event. ALL EVENTS MUST BE COMPLETED BY THE SECOND SUNDAY OF JUNE, 2008.

PLAYING RULES: The event must follow all AAU Girls Basketball rules as outlined in the AAU Girls handbook. NCAA Women's rules must be followed, including 30 second shot clocks.

MODIFICATION OF RULES: (1) Minimum recovery time is altered to one game; (2) An official may work a maximum of four games in one day, with no more than two (2) games back to back.

SCHEDULE FORMAT: An oversight committee, appointed by the Chair, will set the schedule and format. The prescribed format MUST be followed. This must be completed no later than 10 days prior to the start of the event. NOTE: Each team is guaranteed 3 games. Minimum of 1 game recovery between games No more than 3 games per team per day. No game should be scheduled to start after 4:00 PM on the final day of the event.

FACILITIES: All playing facilities must meet the girl's program requirements. Air conditioning may be required at the discretion of the AAU Girls' Basketball Committee.

TEAM ENTRY FEES: Host committee may charge a maximum entry fee of $475.00 per team.

ADMISSION: Host may charge a maximum of $8 per day ($4 for students) and/or a maximum of $20 ($10 for students) for a Tournament Pass.

MEDALS & TROPHIES: For the first and second place teams only, must be obtained through the National Office. Host may either pay in advance or have them sent COD.

BASKETBALLS: The official AAU Rawlings Ten panel Ball must be used in all games. It is highly recommended that the same balls be provided for warm-up. If needed, balls may be purchased through the National Office in advance or sent COD.

DIVISION II TEAMS: Teams must declare on their entry form and at the SRT Registration if they intend to participate as a Division II team and not be eligible to qualify for the Division I National Championship.
